Series 754 Pad Printing Ink

Printcolor 754 is a highly mechanical and chemical resistant, two component pad printing ink for plastics and metals.

Series 754 is an opaque, glossy ink system suitable for use on a wide range of plastic substrates including (but not limited to); rigid PVC, acrylic, polycarbonate, pre-treated polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), many lacquered and coated surfaces, some polystyrenes (ABS, SAN), aluminium and some metals.  Refer to the Technical Information and Series 754 MSDS documents for more details.

The extremely high chemical resistance and UV stability of Series 754 ink makes it ideal for use in demanding industrial applications like the automotive parts, machinery components and panel marking.  The very high mechanical resistance and flexibility of the cured ink layer has made Printcolor 754 the ink of choice for many golf ball manufactures and printers around the world.

754 is a real performer in the printroom.  754 will deliver consistently clear sharp prints even if you over or under thin it a bit, and it won’t muck you around with transfer issues or pot life problems.  754 is one of Printcolor’s most popular ink systems because of its high opacity and glossy finish, extremely high wear qualities, and it’s user friendly running.

Hardener: addition 10-20% 700-HDa hardener or 700-HDS hardener

Series 752 Pad Printing Ink

Printcolor 752 is a one or two component, fast drying ink for printing various plastics and metals.

Upgrade to Printcolor high performance inks; change to Series 752 if you are using Marabu TPT or TPY, Rucco T18 or Coates TP300.

Series 752 is a highly opaque, semi-gloss, easy to use ink system.  It is formulated to achieve excellent adhesion on the widest possible range of plastics commonly used in advertising (promotional, toys etc) and industrial (automotive, pharmaceutics, cosmetics etc) applications.  The highly wear-resistant resins used in 752 make it an excellent choice when printing for demanding, long-term outdoor applications such as car parts or outdoor fittings.  Series 752 has Class VI Certification for application on medical and surgical components; download the Technical Information for more details.

Printcolor 752 gives exceptional results on most plastics including (but not limited to); soft and rigid PVC, some acrylics and polystyrenes (ABS, SAN), polycarbonate, pre-treated polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), many lacquered and coated surfaces, nylon and melamine.

Series 752 can, with the addition of adhesion promotor 700-PP, also be used on un-treated PP with excellent results.  Printcolor 752 is also a great ink to print metals such as; aluminium (raw, anodized, brushed), compound materials such as Alucobond, Dibond and Vekaplan AL, wood and other natural substances.  Series 752 is increasingly popular in Australia and New Zealand, proving itself to be a very good all-rounder for commercial pad printers.  Refer to the Technical Information and Series 752 MSDS documents for more details.

What we say about Printcolor 752
Series 752 is a great work-horse for jobbing pad printers because it has such a wide adhesion range on common plastics, and it does a great job on aluminium surfaces too.  We use 752 for a lot of cosmetic and automotive component printing because of it’s high chemical and wear resistance, and excellent UV stability.  752 is a very stable ink in the press that rarely gives transfer issues, it will print for you all day long even if you’ve loaded it up with hardener.  We find 752 a great ink for multi colour work as it mixes well with thinners of different speeds, giving excellent control of ink transfer across all of the printing heads.

Hardener: addition ratio of 10:1 and up to 5:1  700-HDa hardener or 700-HDi hardener
Thinner: 700-017 thinner – addition ratio 10 – 15% by weight for open well
Thinner: 700-019 thinner – addition ratio 10 – 15% by weight for closed cup
Retarder: 700-018 thinner – addition ratio 10 – 15% by weight

• Printcolor 752 is a mainstay in our printroom. Easy printing and fast drying.  We commonly use it with a heat tunnel (especially for pens) as the printed product can fall into a box at the end of the tunnel without fear of print damage or set off.
• 752 can be used as a one component ink (without hardener) on many plastics, although we tend to add 10:1 700-HDI hardener to ensure a harder wearing print.  You can also substantially increase the adhesion range of the ink by adding 5:1 HDi or HDa hardener, making it stick to more varieties of plastics.
• We never fiddle with fast and slow thinners in 752, 700-017 medium thinners is all we ever use in it.
• Absolutely the best ink for anodised aluminium and spun stainless steel such as that used for stainless travel mugs and water bottles.  Mix with 700-HDi or HDa hardener at 5:1 for this application.
• As with all fast ink systems static spiderwebs around the point of the pad can sometimes be an issue, especially if your plate is a bit deep.  We’ve found this to be easily fixed by not allowing the ink to get too thick, using a steeper pad shape, or just moving the image away from the point of the pad a little.  Our new Anit-static Blue printing pads have proven to reduce the prevalence of static on all our high speed inks and 752 is no exception.
• Screen printing with 752 is no worries either, but you may need to use a bit of retarder such as 10-03432 universal slow retarder to keep the screen open.
• Excellent adhesion on flame treated PP and PE where fast drying for rapid packing and print turnaround is required.
• Can be used on untreated PP by adding 20% 700-PP Adhesion Promoter plus HDa or HDi hardener at 5:1.  Printcolor 752 gives a much better result than Series 711 used this way, in fact we would go so far as to say that it’s a convenient alternative to using a dedicated PP ink like Series 712.  A very useful feature that can get you out of trouble if you don’t have a can of 712 on the shelf, and product pre-treatment isn’t an option.

Series 747 UV Pad Printing Ink

Printcolor 747 is a one component UV cured pad printing ink for most plastics, metals, glass and coated surfaces.

Series 747 combines the super-gloss finish, fast curing time and extremely high chemical and abrasion resistance of UV-cured inks with the vivid colour and coverage Printcolor pad printing inks are known for.  Designed for functional printing on bulk manufactured products such as cosmetic packaging, toys, medical and pharmaceutical devices, automotive parts and other industrial applications requiring high chemical and abrasion resistance.  Printcolor 747 instant curing and almost universal adhesion range makes it an excellent choice for commercial and promotional product printers where print-to-pack deadlines are frequently squeezed.  Series 747 is suited to a wide range of plastics including pre-treated Polypropylene and Polyethylene, most most plastic and coated substrates, and most metal surfaces.  Series 747 has Class VI Certification for application on medical and surgical components; download the Technical Information for more details.

Series 712 Pad Printing Ink

Printcolor 712 is a one component ink for printing untreated polypropylene.

Series 712 highly opaque, low-gloss pad printing ink for industrial and commercial marking and branding treated and un-treated polypropylene plastic and its co-polymerisates.  Printcolor 712 is formulated from highly chemical and abrasion resistant synthetic resins making it suitable for demanding indoor and short to medium term outdoor applications.  Refer to the Technical Information and Series 712 MSDS documents for more details.

What we say about Printcolor 712
If you’re printing on PP all day long, you won’t what to slow up production with flaming or fussy chemical wipes.  Especially as no one will want to pay  for your extra time!  But many printers feel that if they don’t pre-treat they’re only doing half a job, and risk a poor result.  Printcolor 712 is not a compromise.  It is  formulated to do just one thing and that is to produce excellent print adhesion on untreated PP even in high wear applications like car parts, cosmetic containers and flower pots.

• This is a really easy ink to use, it runs well in either open ink well or closed cup machines.
• Release form the pad is excellent, doesn’t usually need air blowing on the pad before print.
• Super fast drying – you don’t really need a heat drying tunnel it’s so fast, just let the product air dry.
• Adhesion is amazing, it really does just work.
• Gloss level is very low, it produces a very matt print.
• Comes in metal cans rather than Printcolors’ excellent plastic ones. Apparently it’s got stuff in it that is incompatible with a PE container.
