Series 747 UV Pad Printing Ink

Printcolor 747 is a one component UV cured pad printing ink for most plastics, metals, glass and coated surfaces.

Series 712 Pad Printing Ink

Printcolor 712 is a one component ink for printing untreated polypropylene.

Upgrade to Printcolor high quality inks; change to Series 712 if you are using Marabu PP or Coates PP

What we say about Printcolor 712
If you’re printing on PP all day long, you won’t what to slow up production with flaming or fussy chemical wipes.  Especially as no one will want to pay  for your extra time!  But many printers feel that if they don’t pre-treat they’re only doing half a job, and risk a poor result.  Printcolor 712 is not a compromise.  It is  formulated to do just one thing and that is to produce excellent print adhesion on untreated PP even in high wear applications like car parts, cosmetic containers and flower pots.

• This is a really easy ink to use, it runs well in either open ink well or closed cup machines.
• Release form the pad is excellent, doesn’t usually need air blowing on the pad before print.
• Super fast drying – you don’t really need a heat drying tunnel it’s so fast, just let the product air dry.
• Adhesion is amazing, it really does just work.
• Gloss level is very low, it produces a very matt print.
• Comes in metal cans rather than Printcolors’ excellent plastic ones. Apparently it’s got stuff in it that is incompatible with a PE container.

Series 711 Pad Printing Ink

Printcolor 711 pad printing ink is a one or two component, quick drying ink for printing most plastics.

Upgrade to Printcolor high quality inks; change to Series 711 if you are using Marabu TPR, Rucco T45 or Coates TP272

Series 711 is a universal pad printing ink popular for its fast drying/curing and for its versatility as a single component ink.  Series 711 is a highly opaque, semi gloss pad printing ink formulated from highly chemical and abrasion resistant synthetic resins making it suitable for demanding indoor and outdoor print uses.  It is well suited to industrial applications such as the automotive and electronic components, medical and pharmaceutical products, as well as decorative printing on toys and promotional products.  Series 711 has Class VI Certification for application on medical and surgical components; download the Technical Information for more details.

Series 711 is particularly suited to printing PVC, polycarbonate, ABS, SAN and acrylic.  Series 711 gives excellent adhesion on a wide range of moulded and duro-plastics, as well as many coated, paper and cardboard products.  Adhesion can be achieved on even more substrates just by adding a small amount of Printcolor 700-HDi hardener.  For more information consult the Technical Information document.  Printcolor  711 is widely used by promotional product printers who love the economy of a reliable single component ink.  Refer to the Technical Information and Series 711 MSDS documents for more details.

What we say about Printcolor Series 711
711 is a great ink for many applications, but for us it’s the stand out performer when printing PVC and polycarbonate.  Printcolor 711 will give you exceptional print quality and almost instant adhesion on PVC items like keytags.  It’s also superbly suited to polycarbonate items like drink cups, giving fantastic print opacity on clear products without the tendency to craze the plastic surface like some aggressive inks can.  A really useful ink for the promotional printer, and in the right industrial applications no other manufacturer of ink has an ink that will perform as well.

• Sticks to lots of plastics. Rule of thumb; if thinners melts the substrate then 711 one component ink will be fine.
• Adhesion on many plastics can be enhanced by adding 10% 700-HDi or 700-HDa hardener.
• If nothing else is available and you can’t pre-treat, 711 may be used with 20% 700-HDa and 20% 700-PP on untreated polypropylene.
• Don’t use it on metals or coated materials – other Printcolor inks are more suited to these substrates.
• Very fast drying, a heat tunnel will allow immediate handling of the printed product.
• As with with all high speed inks a deep plate is likely to cause static spiderwebbing.
• Don’t run it to thick, you are more likely to get spiderwebs if you do.
• Absolutely the best ink for plasticised PVC such as that found on compendiums or “soft touch” key tags.
• Available in a special super high density white (order code: 711-00/179) that gives incredible whites which I have never seen achieved by an ink from any other manufacturer.
• Yes you can screen print it, you might need some slow retarder to keep the screen open.

Series 751 Pad Printing Ink

Printcolor 751 is a two component pad ink suitable for use on a wide range of plastics, as well as metals, ceramics and glassware.

Printcolor 751 is a popular ink with trade pad printers because of its almost universal application for most substrates.  Series 751 used with Printcolor HDi hardener will print a wide range of the common plastics including (but not limited to); pre-treated polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), polycarbonate and duro-plastics.  Printcolor 751 with HDI hardener also gives excellent results on metals and coated or painted surfaces.  In addition, you can mix Series 751 with Printcolor GL hardener to print durable, glossy images on glassware and ceramics.  Printcolor 751 is formulated from epoxy resins with high chemical resistances and is designed for use on industrial and commercial products for internal (indoor) applications.  Refer to the Technical Information and Series 751 MSDS documents for more details.

What we say about Printcolor 751
We looooooove 751!  It’s just so easy to use, even for beginners,  because it NEVER gives you issues with static or pot life, and it’ll produce a great print even if you run it a little bit too thick, or a little too thin.  Printcolor 751 lets us get through the work without fuss regardless of whether we’re printing hand made wine glasses, cheap pens or chromed make-up brushes.  Everyone should have a couple of cans on the shelf.

• Without doubt the easiest pad printing ink to use – period.  It’s happy being run thick or thin and NEVER gives static spiderweb problems. We find that running it a bit thicker often gives a great glossy print, but you may have to go a bit slower to allow the ink to fully transfer  – air blowing on the pad helps with this.
• A bit of a problem solver, we’ve found that 750 will often stick when other inks won’t.  On difficult substrates high temperature oven curing often helps to give better adhesion.
• Can bit slow to air dry especially over winter, so if you’re in a hurry hot air curing is a good idea to speed things along. In winter, 750 can take up to 3 days to air cure, and 1-2 days in summer depending on the weather. In our experience adhesion and wear resistance will continue to improve for several days even after that. In practice if you are air drying product allow at least 24 hours in summer and up to 48 hours in winter before packing and shipping or you risk damaging the print.
• Because it’s a slower ink system, you will often get better transfer by using a short pause at the front and air blowing on the pad to help with transfer.  Multi colour printing can also benefit from air onto the product to dry the previous colour and prevent the next pad from picking up bits of the image, especially with large areas of solid colour.
• It’s very versatile; mix to a ratio of 4:1 with 700-HDi hardener for plastics. metals and most of coatings, or mix with 700-GL hardener at a ratio of 20:1 for printing ceramics and glassware. It’s the only ink on the market that we have seen to have a universal hardener system allowing you to change substrate compatibility, just by using a different hardener.  An example of fantastic chemical engineering from the labs at Printcolor, and a very convenient innovation for us printers.
• Abrasion resistance of the final ink layer can be aided by adding 700-RCA additive on demanding applications like switches.
